A month after the restriction on cement imports was introduced, Uzbekistan again allowed to import this building material into the country.
The restriction on cement imports introduced a month ago was lifted by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
“In order to ensure uninterrupted provision of construction work in the republic, a decision was made to resume import of cement products on May 23,” the document says.
A temporary restriction on cement imports was introduced on April 23 due to a drop in demand for this material due to a stoppage of work at many construction projects in the republic, as well as to support local producers.
It should be noted that the construction of large facilities stopped by quarantine restrictions has been resumed since mid-April. On April 25, construction materials markets began to work again.
