According to the State Statistics Committee, in May this year, food prices fell by 0.2% in Uzbekistan. The determining factor was the seasonal decline in prices for fruits and vegetables, noted in the report of the Statistical Committee.
The report said that over the five months of 2020, food prices rose by 7.5%, non-food products by 3%, services by 2.5%.
In January-May 2019, the picture was as follows: 7.9, 4.6, 4.6.
In annual terms (by May 2019), prices for goods and services increased by 13.7%. As a percentage, food products account for about 55.4% of the total growth in the composite consumer price index.
The influence of non-food goods and services is approximately equal in proportion and accordingly makes up 23.3% and 21.3%, the State Statistics Committee said in a statement.
